FEASTING.

Feast In The East 5 was an awesome time. And because the Dickens Street Theatre is two minutes from our practice lair, we left our van (Snowfist) at home and carted stuff over on a skid and a wagon like some kind of travelling family band. The bands were great, the sandwiches were great, the space was awesome, and there were freezies. Torontonians, this is definitely a series worth keeping up with! And at the end of the night Tim found these silky underthings draped over his bike handles. Just what he needed...

We're dusting off our guitars, shining up our keyboards, and playing a show. This is a good one too! You should come. Not only do you get a smorgasboard of good music, you also get to check out projections and eat food with your ticket (pressed sandwiches and salad)! Fun fact: this venue is about 3 minutes from where we practice. Let's have fun on the East Side together.

THE GUEST BEDROOM (http://theguestbedroom.bandcamp.com/) A bit prog, a bit post-punk, a bit dark, a bit dance-y. Toronto avant rock quartet has been making music since 2004 (whoa it's almost 2012!). Rumbling synth lines, jump and bounce against angular guitar jabs, sharp notes quiver out from behind thick synth concoctions. Singer Sandi Falconer's voice soars over the blaring, driving drum beats & synth hums that fill your ears like an empty church. A fun chaos grown out of a frantic pace. Check this!

YOUNG MOTHER (http://youngmother.bandcamp.com/) Jesse Laderoute's every changing krautrock ensemble Solidifies it's line up & becomes a band! A serious undiscovered gem in Toronto's ever evolving music nebulous. Mini synth & guitar drones lead into to ominous beats & guitar whispers that shake and creep. With an almost hopeful pop sensibility buried under the deep compositions, Jesse's voice reaches out of the eerie environment he's constructed. Guitar wizardry and electronic bleeps & bloops grow under layers of rhythmic synth & drum patterns locking you in. Like a dream you can't escape, stuck in the nether world just below the surface. Krautrock lives!

DANIEL FRANCIS DOYLE (http://danielfrancisdoyle.com/) One man band from Austin, TX plays it all guitar, drums, bass, and puts it together in a loop station math equation. Live drums along with looped everything, DFD powers through spazz rock compositions. His voice buzzes over noodle-y guitar guitar work. Pop hums juxtapose with speed punk drums & guitar thrashing. This guy rules big. He will also be joined by a band for some of his set!

JOHN MILNER YOU'RE SO BOSS (http://jmysb.tumblr.com/) Everyone's favourite weirdo-punk keeps it real. Spazz punk for the modern scumbag. Lightning fast speed, thrashed guitar cords, screeched out bleeps & bloops gloop out of circuit bent toys & electronics. Danielle's vocals yelps & spasms rupture in a choatic volcano of pure hecticity. Former east end coffee jobber becomes current east end resident & cool guy. Cred!

WHAT'S UP.

Hello dudes. What have we been up to lately? Well, we're currently recording a couple new songs: Magical Thinking & Fine Lines! We've enjoyed Tim's whiskey cocktails in the control room while recording vocals. We've tuned our guitars and used delay. Jim's worn all available hats: musician, engineer, and mixoligist. Any kind, rich strangers want to put out a 7inch?!

We've also got a new practice space on the East side. No more Drake platinum records to taunt our lack of commerical success - just concrete walls, forest murals, and spooky doll lamps! The lamp holds the power, and sometimes she gives some of her power to us.

And lastly, not one to wuss out on trying new things, Tim recently tackled the McGangBang. Rating: 6/10. Though a bit cumbersome, he said: "it tasted pretty good." The next McMashup will be the Quarter Flounder, brainchild of Rob Castle. Review to come...

Eleven was a total blast.

After consuming food and drinks at the home of ultimate fighting (Toby's), and taking a spill on the black ice (still feeling that one!) we played what was to be one of our most totally panicked sets in a while. Relaxing is definitely not what we're about! Also? Bruised Knees are the greatest.

Thank you to everyone that came out the The Rivoli the other night! Good times. The Rivoli has some pretty good stage warnings/signs. I guess it's a good thing that we didn't bring our confetti cannons or Courtney Love costumes. Happy New Year!

THE FUTURE IS NOW.

The time has come! 19 boxes of records have been successfully weaned off their mothers, individually branded with their own unique numeric identities, and pumped full of the powerful spirits of a dozen or so rabbits. They're now looking for good new homes - maybe you would like to take one in? Pump up the jams!

If you're in Toronto, you can already find our album at Soundscapes and Rotate! If you don't have a record player or use for such a large, gorgeous piece of packaging, the album will also be available on Itunes, Amazon, etc on the 19th. If you don't live in Toronto, don't like digital downloads, and love receiving mail - you can buy a travelling copy here.

For those of you who might stop by our release show on Friday at The Garrison (party time!) the first 70 copies of the record will include a screen printed poster as seen above - each one a little bit different as far as their bright colours are concerned. And should you want a rabbit's foot to keep yourself in good luck for the rest of your days, well we might have a few of those too.
